#WellnessWednesday share highlighting our commitme

#WellnessWednesday share highlighting our commitment to getting young people on--& staying on--a healthier path, plus the importance of working with others to make that happen. Thanks to Boston Children's #fitKIT and @nbgivesback team, we monitor kids’ healthy fitness zones (HFZ), among other things (more to come with healthy eating classes, too). This recent report with 350+ tests over the last 12 months shows that players with us year-round are in those crucial HFZs crucial for their long-term health and wellness. Both seasons tracked significant increases, including a 33.4% HFZ ⬆️ in the spring!

Overall, 94% of our travel team players are tracking a reduced risk of all sorts of tough health issues like high blood pressure, heart disease, and obesity, with improvements in fitness notable for players of all starting fitness levels! A #SundayShare that highlights today is #NationalCoachesDay or, for us, National #CoachMentor Day. Our @Up2UsSports friends shared an email about the powerful influence of coaches. And those, like Dominic (📸'd here with his Gr 8 Strikerz from yesterday), focusing on teaching life skills and leadership, creating a positive team environment, and supporting mental wellness—besides the X's and O's, are the most impactful! It ensures that kids who play continue to play sports, and when coaches like Dom are consistent, they can have a lasting impact on players' "healthy development into adulthood."

Talk about consistency---#CoachMentor Dominic has been involved with us for well over a decade! He also makes sure we do an annual drive to support a bunch of youth in St. Vincent & the Grenadines, where he is from. These action 📸's are from last weekend's recreational league games, and they are full of happy faces running around on fields, plus lots of high-fiving, team celebrating, and motivating #coachmentors. We're also grateful to Summer Coach Mentor Andy Guzman, who took the train ride up from Boston College, where he's studying computer science and biology, to capture these shots while staying connected to his love of soccer. Yes, it's also extra important for #Beyond Resilient Girl's time, so #CoachMentor and ⚽️ Director Chris hosted a team event for the Gr. 8 Wolverines that included interactive soccer tactics, and with Jr. Coach Perla and others, contributing to the whiteboard instruction. #Leadersihpthroughsports in action. Also, some Chelsea Women's FC highlights with pizza--allowed for special occasions with only water (no sugary drinks on our watch 😃). It was a handstand followed by a flip.🤸‍♂️We don’t recommend that tactic, but this crew brings tons of energy and can come out in many different ways. #ThankfulThursday! Two Gr. 6 girls' travel players got picked for @dreambigcharity's Sports Attire Giveaway Days. Rayanny's mom #thanked us and reported, "She had such a great experience, and Linda (Dream Big ED) was wonderful helping us." Gigi's mom also shared, "I want to thank #BeyondSoccer and #DreamBig for this opportunity. We gladly appreciate everything." She even followed up with some 📷s of her daughter wearing her new gear and sneakers before school. Also, she got to rock her new cleats --- Rayanny, too --- at practice last night!

Yes, this #teameffort has been happening for over a decade. Now that fall sports are underway, #DreamBig knows it's the perfect time to help Rayanny, Gigi, and hundreds of other female athletes be better ready to train and compete. #MondayMemories from a👍 @usyouthsoccer Grassroots Symposium wknd in Salt Lake City, Utah! It focused on building a legacy of impact and inclusively, and thanks to @mayouthsoccer #BeyondSoccer ED Stephanie got to be part of it. It meant 72 hrs of sharing with hundreds from #sbyd nonprofits, #TOPSoccer, and state ⚽️ orgs, including this group pic of (@thesoccerunityproject, #MYSA board, staff & more) taken in between learning on topics like "coming together for youth mental well-being," and the Real Salt Lake City v. Portland Timbers 3-3 #MLS game at this top-notch facility, with a view.

Again, there was so much connection in and out of the conference rooms, especially thanks to the extraordinary host, Diana of Coaching Peace. She wrapped it all up with #NWSL player--& so much more-- Ali Riley who capped it off by reminding us of our important "grassroots roles" and that "soccer gave her community." "She remembers all the moments with people beyond her big wins" (and there have been many)! It’s a #SaturdaySoccerShare, and no, it’s not a sunny day share that we’ve been getting used to over the last few weeks. But hey, it’s sports in New England! A special shoutout to Fifa, a key #FUSE'r (Families United through Soccer Experiences) leading the charge, so these are ready for game-day start on Saturday. You may recall @goodsportsinc through its Program Portfolio is supporting our high-priority equipment needs through 2029. That included this donation of 1,000 uniforms to grow this key feeder ⚽ program.

A #SundaySoccerShare highlighting some Essex County League-play action from yesterday! Parents caught and shared some great action pics, including the Gr. 3 & 4 Wolves in Saugus. Plus, some solid halftime X's and O's chat with cones, which Director Chris is very good at. He sleeps, eats, and breathes soccer-can't you tell? We also have the Gr. 6 Rebels led by the reliable #All-in Issandel, who shared a thoughtful post-game recap (a #BeyondSoccer must!), including that the squad "kept a great pace the entire game, pushed themselves beyond their limits, proving they were capable of doing more than they think." Plus, a nice message was included about the parents being extra supportive --& positive--at their game in Wakefield.

#FridayFitnessFlashback highlighting the 7-week program for two dozen teens with @sparkfit_rw. We called it #BeyondFit with #Spark because it was not just about physical fitness but also had wellness components. Take it from Steven--"Spark trainers contributed to my overall health. It pushed me and helped with not only my fitness but also my mental health. It also taught me how to eat better and figure out if food is healthy."

#SparkFitness tracked some solid data that confirms Steven's positive experience and many others, like
✅100% improving their 10-yd dash times
✅100% improving or staying baseline in the broad jump, with 64% tracking significant increases of 2.5 inches or more
✅85% being able to do more pushups, while 15% staying baseline
✅86% improving their 1-mile echos, with some making 18-second improvements. That's a lot.

The #coachmentors got the in-city program kicked off this week for hundreds of kids, which is a big focus of our #onthefield work. Soccer Director Chris plans to expand that league with more structured gameplay, more #leadershipthroughsports sideline experiences, and a junior referee program. New uniforms, too! #TY #GoodSports and #NewBalance. Yesterday kicked off another Lawrence Youth Soccer soccer season, which is never easy and takes a village! 😀 Our travel #coachmentors, players & fams showed up, and despite a few lopsided games with challenging team placements and some down-to-the-wire roster adds & uniform needs, hundreds of meaningful connections were made, including many first-time game experiences with a handful of new coach mentors on the sidelines.

Here's the Wolverines kicking it all off at 9 a.m. at the reliable Pavilion Park, which does make all the moving parts so much better. After incredible collaboration with various community stakeholder groups, they've helped us craft a one-of-a-kind #beyond resilient girls' curriculum that will be integrated into our practice and game time starting next week.

#MondayMotivation highlights a special day that marked many things, including the importance of community, going back to school, and switching seasons in a fun way with friends. (Yes, Lawrence Youth Travel Soccer starts today! Yikes!) Our all-star Summer #CoachMentors, Declan, Luiz, Jeffrey, Steven, and Angel, worked with friends from the 2nd Congregational Church of West Boxford who continue to support #BeyondSoccer through giving and time. Yes, Director, Steph's parents, too! They came out for tug-of-war, bean bag toss, potato sack races & more with some of their youth. We can't thank them enough for also inspiring a new #BeyondSoccer event focused on back-to-school, fall sports, and fun with community--including it being a day for gift card distributions to help with families' school supply needs. #WeAreInItTogetherWednesday –How great is it when folks with incredible soccer experiences, like John Hablitz, 📷'd here during our Pre-Season Training Week, dedicate their sports expertise and IQs to the program & players. It’s especially valuable for teens wanting to take their skills to the next level. Gaining different perspectives and practice techniques from someone with John’s experience, including being a former college and Major League Soccer (#MLS) head coach and current New England Premier “Futbol” Club director, to name a few, is #beyond exciting and essential.

It's a #FantasticFriday after a special invite to the UMass Lowell Women's Soccer home opener against Merrimack College--under the lights! Our girls--about 25--who attended had a heck of a night. Not only did they get to be the pre-game cheer tunnel and watch a competitive match-up (0-1 L for UMass), but they also had the unique privilege of showcasing their skills and love for the sport at halftime. Thanks to @riverhawkwsoc invite, they took to the field with music and lots of cheering fans! It was the perfect kickoff to our fall season focus through the Resilient Girls Project and a new Girls-in-Sports & Wellness curriculum for many girl's teams—stay tuned!
