In-School Soccer Enrichment

Our Program Approach

Beyond Soccer’s School Day Enrichment Programming engages students through small-group soccer, futsal, team-building, and fitness activities that promote teamwork, inclusion, and communication. Programs emphasize confidence-building, positive mentorship, and consistent encouragement, while fostering fun and enthusiasm for active living.

Because some students can’t always get to us after school, we bring our programs to them—creating more opportunities for play, connection, and growth during the school day. These in-school sessions also introduce new students to soccer and serve as a bridge into our year-round sports-based youth development programs. In 2025, 20+ students from the Guilmette School joined our travel teams after participating in our in-school efforts!

History in the Schools

Since 2012, following the placement of Lawrence Public Schools into state receivership, Beyond Soccer has stepped up to enhance students’ school-day experiences through in-school sports and enrichment programs. The first program launched at Guilmette Elementary & Middle School in September 2012, reaching hundreds of students each week through Soccer & Wellness Programs developed by former Health & Wellness Director Lindsey McArdle. Since then, more than 3,000 youth have benefited from small-group instruction, team play, fitness, team-building, and nutrition education—many led by former players who have come full circle as mentors.
