It’s always a #WinningWednesday when you’re involved with Linda Driscoll & l @dreambigcharity. Here’s Sr. #CoachMentor, Melissa, with 3 #BeyondSoccer players @ the 8th Annual Dream Big Leadership Conference UMass Boston (this📷was from an event photographer—we can’t take credit!).

Our group attended with the wonderful Maggie Ready, Arlington Middle School’s Phys Education Teacher, and 14 student-athletes! Both Melissa & Maggie reported that during the return van ride, the girls were already talking about next year & how they must invite more of their student-athlete friends. Melissa reminded that she attended as a middle schooler &, although not a participant, was reinvigorated by the stories of perseverance from the former & current athlete presenters. It was fun for our group that, in addition to knowing the incredible Rebekah Splaine Salwasser of the Red Sox, another presenter, Tanya Potcova, is a great friend of Beyond’s ED--a supporter too! She was a rock star🏀 player, #CaptivateBio founder & more. More #MondayMemory 📸s from our 10th weekend of outdoor springtime play. It would have been nice to see the sun, but that didn’t stop these youth in the in-city league from coming out and playing. It’s a #rainorshine approach 🌧☀️, thanks to the committed #CoachMentors & #JrCoachMentors who know the deal. These #actionpics were also taken by that dedicated crew, or in this case Melissa & Michael, which for Melissa meant a full day on fields, including leading her Wolverines to a 4-0 victory in Beverly earlier in the day. Issandel (left) and Luiz (right) are two players who just graduated from @ndcrhs 🎓 They are tremendous #studentathletes who have excelled in the classroom and on the field, with more than 11 combined years of Beyond Soccer participation & contributions! Both boys are heading off to college, and tonight they have their final #ECYSA regular season game at 7pm in Wakefield. #CoachMentor William will lead them and the rest of the crew, and hopefully, it results in a win that means that they'll be playoff bound in addition to being college-bound! Today’s #SoccerSaturday wasn’t the last regular season game day weather we hoped for, but that didn’t slow down our activities or players. Sometimes cooler weather makes you move quicker, like these Lions players doing their customary post-game cool-down run. We also witnessed other great results around the league, including a first “W” for the Rebels with #CoachMentor William on the road. The Wolverines also had a great #teameffort in Beverly and are 📷'd with #CoachMentor Melissa. #CoachMentor Brittanie also got #special🎈attention from her players & families, post-game. The Jaguars🐆also had a win in Boxford and are getting good at their post-game signature piggyback poses. A #WednesdayWrapUp of Tuesday’s activities after an important Memorial Day Weekend. We were back in the Arlington gym, with Declan, a former #Beyond player, Summer #CoachMentor, current Westfield State student (& more), stepping up for us in the school. He shared these 📷's (hey, nice back flick!) after returning for the summer & starting with us early. Coaching & mentoring come naturally to Declan, with many years of experience with our youngest Sports & Wellness campers. Plus, Chris organized his regular goalie training sessions at Kane Park. These smaller, almost individualized trainings are also important for players. Some clouds rolled in, but nothing stopped all this play, even when the rain started. 🌧 Yes, some groups headed inside for fitness, with some ⚽️ game-watching & even a surprise bday celebration in #BeyondFIT room--one of the incredible benefits of having an indoor enrichment space connected to the field. It's so noteworthy to mention that turf makes this all possible. We could not do this on a grass field, meaning all this beautiful #play noise would disappear! However, #CoachMetnor William managed to organize a quick (& drenched) post-game pic of the Grade 6 Rebels. A fun 📷 of a Jaguars player was also shared on What’s App of her caked in the mud before the whistle even blew! A great thing about soccer is that you play in all the elements, including a beautiful sunset soccer session like this at Pavilion at Riverwalk last night or these goalkeeper sessions that are currently underway at Kane Park. Lots of #SaturdaySharing on our 26 Whats App groups (yes, 26!!) as players take to fields all over Essex County, but first, a quick highlight of a special get-together organized by #CoachMentor Will last night. We’re calling it #FIFAFridayNights, which will become more frequent as we get closer to the out-of-school summer months. More than 15 high school players got together for some friendly ping pong (thanks again to a long-time family friend for the table donation!), some FIFA Xbox play🎮in the multi-functional #BeyondFIT room, and some food in our teaching kitchen. William said it was great when the FIFA games turned into some animated Celtics watching (ugh-tough game).

We know, we know, we did an earlier #team highlight, so how about a #ThrowbackThursday to this great group of Gr. 6 boys from last weekend’s #win?

The Thunder squad, led by #CoachMentor, Darvin, leads the league bracket at 5-1. It’s a group that loves the game & is led by an individual with the same love of the sport. Darvin immigrated from Guatemala 20+ yrs ago, and when we met in 2018, he was running his own soccer academy, including instructing his 2 young boys. We decided it was better to join forces so he could do more of what he loves most. Yes, these rewards are all by random draw right now, and we look most forward to the non-random draws coming soon when we reward the 1st team with 100% of their report cards submitted with an outing...of their choice! The Gr. 6 Bulldogs, Gr. 4 Storm, & Gr. 3 Lioness squads currently lead the pack, but other teams are close behind. As shared, our #AcademicOvertime program is still happening but has slowed as the Merrimack College student tutors wrap up their spring semesters. We have a summertime academic program in the works, too. On this #TeamTuesday, we’re highlighting the Gr 3 Lions & the #teameffort coaching effort. #CoachMentor Chando is 📷'd with the Lions after stepping in during the 1st half so Coach & Director, Chris, could assist another matchup. Again, lots of important #teamwork is required, especially on Saturdays to ensure 529 kids— & growing get to #play this spring! It’s also a benefit for players to learn from different #BeyondSoccer mentors. The boys even ended up with a 4-2 with that dual leadership! You may also recall that Chando, in addition to leading the Gr. 4 Storm, was a former pro player in Guatemala and leads the Lawrence Latin Men’s League. Last weekend in addition to youth coaching, organized a city-wide tourney attended by hundreds. To say he's is all about growing soccer in #LawrenceMA is an understatement.

That energy and fun must be matched at the same level, which moms do daily. That's why Director Chris and the many Jr. #CoachMentors who contribute bring #fun, relatable activities like the “Jungle Game,” where they must dribble like an alligator or a bear🐊🐻, or even balance the ball on their head like a seal 🦭or jump up or down with the ball like a Kangaroo🦘! Kane Park, where they had a great #teameffort performance against the Georgetown Blizzards and, as shared in the post-game recap, kept the ball out of the middle in their defensive third, played it wide and, played with intensity too. The girls are back at it tomorrow at home against the Methuen Thundercats. Jaguars vs. Thundercats…sounds like a great matchup!!🐱🐆

As most know, we emphasize in-school efforts and provide tutoring for players with academic needs through #AcademicOvertime.🎓📖 Part of our focus on classroom achievement is collecting travel player report cards and reward players, in this case, with $25 @newbalance gift certificates (like this player 📷'd)

We also like how longtime player & #CoachMentor, now alum & Sr. Administrator extraordinaire, Oriagna, created this raffle wheel!
