Earlier this week you met Issandel, our Youth Delegation Leader. Now meet the rest of our Festival 26 delegation! After arriving together (and a little pre-festival shopping 🛍️), our six youth participants are soaking up every moment in Boston.

Their group chat says it all: a visit to the Berklee Performance Center where one of our own performed, a World Cup watch party at the Tall Ships, and today a tournament plus trips to the Prudential and the Freedom Trail, with plenty of teambuilding along the way. ⚽

Experiences like this are only possible because of partnership. Thank you to Boston SCORES and Sport dans la Ville, and to our mutual partner New Balance Foundation, along with every partner who came together for these 400+ youth and leaders.

Every Summer Nights location is run by our Summer Youth Hires team. This one is for our grade 1–4 players, and we have familiar faces leading the way, including long-time players, now coach mentors, Stephen, Noe, and Jared.

Our own Coach Mentor Issandel has been in Boston representing Beyond Soccer as a Young Leader at Festival26, and it’s already been unforgettable!

⚽ Presented by Boston SCORES and Sport dans la Ville, Festival26 brings together young leaders from around the world for 9 days of cultural exchange, leadership development, and a football for good tournament.

🤝 Issandel arrived a day before the 400 youth participants, bonding with 40 fellow young delegation leaders from 17 countries and training in football3, a fair play approach where respect and teamwork score just as many points as goals.

🌟 He met U.S. Paralympian Femita Ayanbeku, a sprinter whose story left everyone inspired.

🎂 And in true Issandel fashion, he organized a birthday celebration for a roommate he had just met, because for him, leadership means showing up for the people around him.

We couldn’t be more proud to have him representing our community, and look forward to sharing more from our delegation that includes 6 Beyond Soccer players and Delegation Leader, Sadie, who arrived yesterday.

Meet Angelito, an LHS graduate and former high sch

Meet Angelito, an LHS graduate and former high school soccer player, now a current NECC student and one of the newest coach mentors on our team.

He joined us in Fall 2025, and it hasn’t taken long for our kids to look up to him. Born in the Dominican Republic, Angelito brings his love of the game and two languages to the field, connecting with our kids in both English and Spanish and meeting them right where they are.

This summer brings a milestone we’re proud to be part of: his very first job, and it’s with us. You’ll catch him with our kids at our Soccer & Wellness Camp and at our Summer Nights program!

The best mentors often know exactly what it feels like to be out on that field. We’re lucky to have him. ⚽🧡💙

#WorldCupWednesday🏆 What a day, Lawrence! Thanks to @mayouthsoccer it felt like the World Cup came right to our city.

🌎 So many of our Beyond Soccer kids and community showed up fully engaged all day, and we were thrilled to welcome new families joining us for the very first time.

⚽ The field never slowed down... awesome inflatable soccer fields, player card photos, and raffles all day long.

🎨 A special shoutout to tattoo artist Gabby who kept the line going with temporary tattoos. Check out her work.

🇧🇷 And the energy?! The whole field went absolutely crazy when Brazil took the lead.

🙌 A big thank you to the City and its Recreation Department for helping bring it all together, and to the politicians who showed up.

The World Cup may be global, but Monday it belonged to Lawrence. 🧡🩵⚽

#SundaySpotlight ⚽

This crew had quite the week! Thanks to a great partnership with @mayouthsoccer and the @revsacademy they got to spend all week at Revs Soccer Academy. Here they are decked out in their Revs gear.

🚐 As you can see, there was lots of bonding before they even hit the field, with lots of thumbs up.

⚽ Add in the drills, the scrimmages, and making new friends, and it added up to one unforgettable week.

🌟 Another added bonus was Noe, a former player turned summer staffer who got the group to and from camp every single day. The bonus for him? Getting to sit in on training. Noe is probably the best player to ever come out of Beyond Soccer. A great role model and student, too. Again, win-win all around. Thanks to all involved.

📣 And speaking of Mass Youth Soccer, our city is a site for a Mass Youth Soccer Festival tomorrow at Veterans Memorial Stadium. Come watch the World Cup Round of 32 with us and the rest of the community.

#WeGotThisWednesday with this crew of 22 summer hires and jr coaches! 💪

Yesterday was the official kickoff of our Summer Youth Jobs Program, which includes some teens who have been with us for a decade, and alumni who have returned to assist our very busy summer camp and summer nights programming.

📋 They were engaged, listening to Soccer Director Chris and Impact Coordinator Declan, filled out self-assessment forms on the skills they want to work on this summer, and talked through the '10 Things That Are Within Your Control,' such as being on time, being coachable, and doing a little extra.

🎲 And of course, in true Beyond Soccer fashion, it included some fun, ending with a Heads or Tails game with Coach Mentor Donovan walking away with a $100 @newbalance gift certificate.

#MakingMemoriesMonday 🏆

Our High School Panthers Travel Team made history. First high school girls team to qualify for the Essex County Youth Soccer playoffs, win a playoff match, and reach the finals.

⚽ One of our players said it best after the season wrapped..."We did all of this together, and we're just getting started."

🤝 Coach Mentor (& Soccer Director) Chris put it perfectly too, watching girls who barely knew each other "starting new bonds with one another," with leaders stepping up and pushing everyone forward.

📣 And the support?! Gr. 8 Wolverines, the boys' HS team (also in the playoffs), and so many parents showed up for these girls.

🌮 Deservingly, this team celebrated off the field too, good food, good company, and now prepping for their end of season outing with plenty more soccer this summer.

Thanks to @salemnews sports editor Matt Williams for learning about our 15-year journey that started with @wolverinesteph24 and her mom, for sharing the exciting news of the FIFA @glblctzn Education Fund grant, and for interviewing our staff and coach mentors, whose stories are woven throughout.

Here are some snippets from the article published this week.

Declan Murphy, Beyond Soccer's Impact Coordinator (Westfield State University graduate), joined the program around age 12. His sister was part of its first team, so he's basically been around it ever since. "The connection from soccer is so strong that it breaks the language barrier," said Murphy. "That high five on the field? It's universal."

18-year-old Arabella Sseyondo (heading to UMass Lowell for business) has been around Beyond Soccer since she was 4. "Personally, I always had more confidence on the field than I did in school, so I'm always reinforcing that for our kids. I want to empower them," she said. "I met my best friend in this program, and she's like a sister to me. So it truly is a family."

And it's not just coaching and tutoring that keep people involved. Andy Guzman started as a junior coach and tutor, then found a way to give back through his other passion, photography. He's been behind the camera assisting with digital media ever since: "I really enjoy looking at those moments, catching those celebrations and high fives so that we have the memories," including the photos shared in this article.

Beyond Soccer made history this spring! 5️⃣ travel teams advanced to the Essex County Youth Soccer playoffs, and today we're celebrating one of those teams: our 7th and 8th-grade Wolverines, who battled hard but were recently knocked out in a close game.

This team is built on connection and confidence, thanks to Melissa's steady leadership 💪 She's been part of Beyond Soccer for 14 years. Under her guidance, the Wolverines have grown into stronger, more competitive athletes this season.

The Wolverines communicate constantly, with hundreds of messages flowing through their team WhatsApp every week 📱 Parents cheer them on, players celebrate graduating seniors 🎓, sign up for leadership conferences, take part in the Resilient Girls curriculum, coordinate post game family cookouts, and right now they're planning their end of season celebration at Level 99 🎮

Yesterday, thanks to an invitation from @fwc26boston, 10 Beyond Soccer players plus 4 Coach Mentors headed to @bentleyu for a training session with @mayouthsoccer, then watched the French National Team train — and met them. Yes, THE French National Team, including Kylian Mbappé, arguably one of the world's greatest soccer players. @equipedefrance

Our girls also got to meet soccer legend Kristine Lilly, who played for the U.S. Women's National Team for 23 years.

The WhatsApp messages flying through our group chat afterward said it all, with grateful parents chiming in too. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. These kids are inspired. Not just about the World Cup, but about continuing to play, get better, and connect with this game they love.

They'll never forget this one. And honestly? Neither will we.

#TogetherThursday — our kids are ready for the World Cup, and this shows exactly why. 🌍⚽

On one of the last practice days for in-city and travel players who are not playoff-bound next week (stay tuned!), this group of 1st-4th-grade players gathered on the field and juggled together. A simple moment that captured something we talk about all the time: the game is a doorway to better health and belonging, school effort, and community pride. And teamwork is at the center of it all.

As a recipient of the FIFA @glblctzn Education Fund grant, we participated in its #FootworkForFutures program. Through its partnership with MetLife, $5 is donated for every qualifying post shared — supporting a fund we're grateful to be part of. 🧡

Last week, a group of our older female players attended the 11th Annual Dream Big! Leadership Conference at UMass Boston with 250 female student-athletes from urban communities, all in one room.

The day featured 8 women speakers, former athletes now working across medicine, sports administration, journalism, engineering, and more, sharing how sports shaped their paths and the lessons that carried them forward.

Our girls secured front-row seats, raised their hands, and had plenty of questions. By the end, they were already telling program leaders, "see you next year." They also went home with some awesome sports gear. 🙌

Leading the trip was Coach Mentor Melissa of our Wolverines team. Melissa attended one of the first conferences about a decade ago. Now she's the one leading the way.

Summer jobs are fast approaching, and we are so grateful for our continued partnership with @masshiremvwb 🙌 ☀️

This partnership helps offset youth wages, including younger Tier 1 Jr. Coaches participating in a project-based program. Wait until you learn about what they'll be working on!

Last week, Declan attended the 2026 YouthWorks Summer Experience Program Employer Orientation alongside organizations from Lawrence and surrounding areas, including Yalexa of the Lawrence Recreation Department, a close partner. He met with Youth Service Specialists, including Ana (pictured), and key members of the MassHire team to get our youth ready to hit the ground running on July 6th. Our Beyond Soccer hires from last summer were even highlighted in the presentation!

It's a #SaturdayShoutout! 🎉 🎓

We love it when our WhatsApp groups get flooded with graduation photos, and this season has been full of them.

Congrats to Carlos, who just graduated from Lawrence High School and heads to Northern Essex Community College this fall to play soccer. A Beyond Soccer member since 2015, he's been part of our sports family for over 10 years. Like Jared earlier this week, Carlos contributed to the LHS soccer program that made the playoffs for the first time in school history.

He's also a constant presence on our high school travel team, including tomorrow, where they play for an Essex County Youth Soccer League playoff spot.

So proud of him and all of our graduating student athletes. There are so many of you to celebrate!

In exactly one month, a group of @beyondsoccerlawrence youth will travel to Boston for 9 days of leadership development, cultural immersion, and sport for good programming—learning and playing alongside more than 400 young people from around the world.

What is Festival 26? It’s a global youth gathering developed to harness the power of sport to create transformative opportunities for young people. Hosted by our friends @bostonscores and with support from @sportdanslaville, Festival 26 will give all participants the opportunity to expand their cross-cultural knowledge, deepen their understanding of sport for impact, and visit one of the U.S.'s most historical cities (yes, right here in Boston!) as it plays host to the 2026 World Cup.

Coach Mentor Spotlight! Meet Jared, a Lawrence Hig

Coach Mentor Spotlight! Meet Jared, a Lawrence High School senior, two-year team captain, and one of our rising Coach Mentors. 🧤

Jared runs individualized goalkeeper training twice a week for players from 4th grade through high school, bringing both technical skill and strong communication to every session.

At LHS, he led his team to their first playoff appearance and a first-round win. Now he's passing that on to the next generation... and on Saturdays, you'll also find him lining fields and showing up for our In-City Program.

This fall, Jared heads to Bentley College to play college soccer. We're proud of everything he's done, and grateful he's giving back before he goes.

#FuelForPerformanceFriday ⚽🥗

It was the Wolverines' turn for Fuel for Performance, building on last fall's hydration program. This spring it's all about proper snack combinations to help players stay off the "blood sugar rollercoaster" 🎢 and keep steady energy on and off the field.

The girls were especially engaged during a fun, competitive twist on classic Bingo that tested their snack-pairing knowledge!

A huge thank you to Declan for leading the course and to our Boston Children's Hospital fitkit partners for making this possible.

We look forward to sharing more in the weeks ahead.
