A 🎥 #SpeedySundayShare of the Gr. 2 & 3 boys--the Gr. 4 girls, too, three of the twenty different groups that come together for #fastpaced #futsal on Saturday or Sunday @ the YWCA. Some older groups even get 2 hours. This 📷 follows a fall season game, where oldest sibling, Noe, a heck of a player (#understatement) on the Pingree Varsity Squad, clinched their league tourney championship. 🏆His sister (left) also plays for Pingree, while the youngest (middle) is on our Jaguars squad. All three have or will start playing with us this winter..

A #WellnessWednesday highlighting the return of 30+ high school boys and growing from Central, LHS GLTS & Notre Dame. Sr. #CoachMentor William began with a pep talk in the #BeyondFit space about attitude, effort, and expectations, including collecting report cards and #AcademicOvertime assistance for older players with college goals. When the high school players took the turf field, the Jaguars got in some important wellness time with ropes, ladders, and calisthenics, followed by the Grade 4 boys’ workout. This season, we’re maximizing our spaces with lots more weekly pop-up #play.

Our #SundaySportsShenanigans share includes lots of small-sided, fast-paced #futsal. Yesterday was the program launch at the Lawrence YWCA! Activities began at 9:15 am and ran through 9 pm. The same 12-hour program lineup is now underway, with several hundred youth & teens benefiting, with #'s growing quickly. Soccer Director Chris' voice was a bit touch-and-go when he checked in with Director Steph last night. Thankfully, he's got lots of awesome #CoachMentor and jr. coaching help, plus Programs & Partnerships Manager Iris was there to handle sign-ins. It's a #FastFootworkFriday with this 🎥 encapsulating how we feel as we enter December prepping for another program launch (tomorrow) & giving season while maximizing #play and play spaces! We're moving quickly like these Grade 7 & 8 girls who had an indoor workout in the #BeyondFit space. Stretching & lunges, too.

A goal is to sponsor more activity this winter than last. A deterrent is that our indoor flooring remains packed away, but we're still moving a lot between the Pavilion on above-freezing days, BeyondFit turf, and our gym rentals at the YWCA. However, we're still searching for a new location & partnership for that SportCourt. Be on the lookout 😊

It's an off-the-field #TutoringThursday shoutout to Merrimack College students who have contributed to #AcademicOvertime this fall, mentoring a group of our middle & elementary school students. Academic #OT Coordinator William mentioned the best part has been the "tutor and participant consistency," which only means the program and connections are working! These 📸s remind us of the importance of investing in spaces and to make this work, as the Cummings Foundation did in late August through its MAD$ grant. Now, all these nooks have computers for school research and other academic (and monitored) activities!

It's a #TerrificTuesday after coming back #together last night from the important Thanksgiving 🦃 holiday of gratitude and thanks. Our team was all about utilizing our space and the full moon 🌕, indoors & out. We had dozens of Gr. 4 boys benefiting from skill sessions with ⚽️Director Chris on the @riverwalkpavilion turf, Gr. 5 girls worked on their fitness with #CoachMentor Eder in the #BeyondfFit room, and Sr. #CoachMentor William, who, in addition to running Academic OT, was back on the field with #Lawrence HS players for the first time since the summer. Sr. #CoachMentor Melissa shared that Level 99 had 40 “real-life” rooms wherein groups of 2-6 could participate w/each room requiring unique problem-solving skills based on solid team communication, critical thinking, and physical strength. #WeWereSurprisedWednesday, but not really surprised to learn that long-time former player & student-athlete Esmeralda (📸'd right) opened the Annual @dreambigcharity Gala @ Fenway Park with another incredible female athlete, Say. Today, Esmeralda is doing important work in the mental health field after college & grad school. She was on our FIRST team-the Wolves-that got our mission going.

In front of that crowd of many hundreds, including ED Steph and her grow-up sports pals, Esmeralda, importantly reminded that in addition to her early coaches, being able to play in new cleats was a #gamechanger. DreamBig! was #BeyondSoccer's FIRST equipment grant, and it went to a deserving squad of girls who gained so much confidence through sports. No one ever forgets their first pair of cleats! What a great night and #memorylane reminder! Go, Esmeralda, and Go, DreamBig!, which continues to support #BeyondSoccer and thousands of girls #yearround

#CoachMentors Eder & Kaz hosted a #fun movie night for the Jaguars on Sunday, sharing that about halfway through the 📽, they could tell the girls were getting antsy. #Playing music 🎵 was suggested! After that, there was no turning back. They danced, laughed, and sang🎤 for the last hour together. These #offthefield events strengthen team connections in special ways, and that's why we prioritize fun outing time and ensure they get catered to that group's interests and needs, including dance! Hey, it's great exercise, too! 💃 🏃‍♀️

Today represents the last "official" #SoccerSaturday of the fall '23 Lawrence ⚽️ season. While we sort through the 300+ 📷's shared through WhatsApp, including the awesome parent-organized award ceremony after the Rebels match-up (👏 fams!), this one sums up our feelings. We continue to be all-hands-in for youth development through sports and creating a positive, ALL-In, #yearround environment that engages families, past players, and community members so young people connect with mentors, gain confidence, and develop new skills. Sr. #CoachMentor Melissa (student studying nutrition education at UMass Lowell) & Communications Manager Oriagna have been working for weeks to bring back Fuel for Performance, incorporating messages from Boston Children’s Fitkit toolkit. @nbgivesback

Friday night’s #FFP (pilot) class was open to 10, 7th & 8th Gr. Wolverines. It incorporated a hands-on overnight oats recipe ideal for sustained energy. Players also did pre and post-intakes so we could get some baseline related to their nutrition education understandings. #FFP will be further developed by Melissa, Ori, and other partners for more middle & high schoolers over the winter, with required spring courses for age-appropriate players! #SBYD #ontheield #offthefield #youthsports #healthykids #happykids #healthyfamilies #healthycommunities #LawrenceMA #BeyondSoccer⚽🧡💙🍎🍌🍓
